2026 Course Description
Hassans Walls Reserve serves up a smorgasbord of cliff lines, epic pagoda rock formations, and cool ferny gullies. It’s the ultimate playground for trail runners looking for a true-blue adventure in the Aussie bush.
The Start for the 5km course is at Lithgow Pony Club in Sheedys Gully, Lithgow, where the friendly Event Hub buzzes with pre-race excitement. After a quick 100m burst, turn right and follow the ‘RoundUp’ trail all the way around the outskirts of Lithgow Pony Club grounds in a clockwise direction on historic single bush trails that are located just under the tree canopy adjacent to the open paddocks. A fast, flat last kilometre leads back into the Event Hub finish chute where the energy of the crowd celebrates every finisher crossing the line. This course is very runnable having a cross country feel with only 195m of elevation over the 5km and will suit the speedy cross-country athletes, parkrun fans, new trail runners, age groupers, kids and walkers of all ages.
